Catching up, and a farewell

This morning--6 miles! A good run, but hot. I pushed through it; had planned to run 5, but decided to go further. Thankfully, I had some water and Jelly Belly sports beans with me-yum. I got up at 5:30 this morning-that's a good time for me to get out of bed. At least in the summer. Maybe not so much in the cold(ish) dark winter.

I haven't posted since July 22-I've been busy. Aren't we all? :-) Since then, I've run 8 times:
4, 5, 3.5, 5, 3.5, 3, 3, and today's 6. 33 total.

I also walked 3 times with my friend. Our final walk was on July 27. My friend has moved out of state. I've known this day was coming, but I didn't know how hard it would be to say good-bye. Since we started walking together in 2002, we have walked over 500 times, over 1500 miles together. We covered many miles-not just on the sidewalk, but living life together as we prayed for one another and other friends, wrestled through hard issues, recited hundred of scriptures, cried over God-revealed sin, and rejoiced in His goodness and faithfulness. She has been a dear friend of my heart, a big part of my life, and I miss her greatly.

Proverbs 13:20 Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise . . .

Thank you, Lord, for sweet friendships . . . You are the dearest friend of all.

  1. I'm sorry about your friend moving. That must be hard for both of you. You will miss the walks...it sounds like that was a very productive time together. Sounds like a true sister in Christ.

    Good job on your running.

  2. What a treasure to have a friend like that!
Saying good bye is always hard. I hope you will be able to find new ways to encourage each other.

So good to hear from you today!

  3. Oh goodness, this made me tear up. I'm so sorry you are missing your friend. It really is a hole in your heart when someone so special moves away. I can relate. I'm just so thankful that He never leaves us...
