Tonight I printed out my entry form for the Tulsa Run. I'll mail it in on Monday. I'm excited and motivated--I expect my age group will have only 50-60 women and I'd like to finish in the top one-third; I hope to run 9.5-10 minute miles
One of my brothers (David) has agreed to run and his 18 y/o daughter may run with (or ahead of) us. Still waiting to hear from brother Dan.

Yay! I'm excited for you! How fun to do it w/some family too.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to hearing all about it!
Yea! Mary Ann, I love doing the Tulsa Run and wish I was ready for it this year. You are familiar enough with Tulsa to know that when they say hills it is very mild. I know you will do well and I bet, knowing the course, you will have no problem making your time goal. One of the perks of getting older is the fun of seeing your name higher on the list :-D
ReplyDeleteThanks, Wendy!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, Terri--less competiton! And I'm on the young side of my age group, so that helps, too. I wish you could be running with the course too! You're young, so you have many years ahead of you for the Tulsa Run. :-)
I'm so glad, Mary Ann! I pray it will be a great run for you and you can meet your goal.
ReplyDeleteMary Ann, What a fun way that would've been to finally meet each other!! My husband and son are going hiking in Arkansas that weekend, so even if I would have been ready with my mileage I could not have done it having the girls by myself. Oh well another year. It sounds like it will be a wonderful time for your family! Have you ever looked at running the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon/half-marathon? It made Runners world top 12 races. I am seriously considering doing it this year. From the friends I have that have run it they say it is very moving and honoring to the victims of the bombing. Well, have fun training for the Tulsa run!
