Again, 3

This morning I slept a little later-so nice-but, that meant it was a little hotter outside. I ran the same route, probably a little slower.

The place where we are staying is right by a small private zoo, of sorts. This morning as I ran, I saw a zebra, 2 emus, and a llama. The Shetland ponies are so cute; I wish I'd had an apple or some sugar cubes for them.

After breakfast I sat down at the dock with some of the other guests and learned about a mission called http://www.africanvisionofhope.com/ Two ladies, Joy and Judy, and their husbands and children (and others) are involved in Zambia-building an orphanage, starting a school and seminary, teaching the older women to sew school uniforms. HIV-AIDS has killed off a whole generation (20s-40s) and half the population in this area is 14 and under. These two energetic ladies love the Lord and are doing a good work. I have to ask, "Lord, do you have something new for me to do this next school year?"

Another friend, Barbara was telling me about the Beth Moore study she is leading in her neighborhood. It's a study on the Psalms of Ascent (120-135) and sounded very interesting. I've missed bible study this summer.

After breakfast, I swam in the lake-a little less than 1/2 mile, I think. I love to swim and I would love to do a mini triathlon.

After lunch I rode a jet ski-that was a blast!

Time to head out for dinner-we're going in the boat to our restaurant--Jolly Rogers. Should be fun!

  1. Reading your post I somehow skipped the word "zoo" and then I read "I saw a zebra, 2 emus, and a llama.".....and was like "What! Where on earth is Mary Ann running???" And THEN saw the "Zoo" word!

Sounds like you are having a wonderful time of spiritual and physical refreshment. I have heard a lot about Beth Moore's studies but have never done any, I would love to know what you think.

Oh and jet-skiing! I only did that once and it was such fun!

Triathlon, wow that would be such a challenge, which you could totally do, I reckon. For me, I would love to do a triathlon if it wasn't for the swimming!!!
