5 miles Saturday morning.
Saturday night my friend and I took a long walk in the river area-a "loop", they called it . . . we actually got a little lost on this "loop" in the woods, until we followed the setting sun out of the forest. The woods were lovely, dark, and deep . . .
Then we, and a hundred or so other Arkansans, took a twilight walk across the Big "D" bridge-beautiful. Would love to do that again, with DH. (Hint, hint!)
(This morning I found a tick in an *unmentionable* place; I think it found me while we were wandering in the woods. )
Sunday-day of rest!
Enjoying the continued cool weather, I ran 3.5 Monday morning, and walked for about 1.5 hours in the neighborhood and around a mostly empty, very green, golf course with my friend Monday evening. As we finished our walk, I remembered that my son, John, was working at the Sno Cone Shack (Hut? House?), so we jumped in the car and sped over to see him.
Get this: my dear friend, who is younger than I, but still plenty old, has N.E.V.E.R. , E.V.E.R., had a sno cone! In her whole life. She doesn't get out much . . . :-) She will admit that herself; I'm not being unkind.
We both had kiddie cups-peaches and cream. Actually, I don't care for sno cones all that much. After about 3 bites, I've had enough.
This morning (Tuesday), I ran about 3.5--before the heavy rains came. Good run, but I am still a bit bothered with breathing issues. Of course, the humidity was rather high, at 94%.
Have I mentioned this verse lately?
Strength and dignity are her clothing,
And she smiles at the future.
Proverbs 31:25
It's my new favorite verse. May it be so, Lord Jesus.

I love that verse, too.
ReplyDeleteYour walks with your *friend* sound so wonderful! I'm glad you have that blessing in your life.
Good job on your runs! And walking for 1 1/2 hours--that's a great workout!
I was also just going to say that your runs/walks always sound so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGreat verse, I think that sentence "she smiles at the future says SO much" doesn't it? Love it!
What a great verse for me right now! As I prepare for our vacation I have been thinking about who needs what to wear when we go to such and such. Yet this is really what I need to clothe myself in...thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteHave you got any thoughts about what the breathing issue is?
LOVE that verse!
ReplyDeletesnow cones - mmm, one of my favorite things about summer!
The breathing issue . . . I suppose it could be asthma, which I've had on occasion over the years. A friend told me recently that she has "adult onset asthma"-maybe that's what's going on. I'm not real big on medical interventions, so I'll probably just do nothing at this point. Except mention in periodically in my blog . . . :-)
