Gentle slopes, 3 miles

We're at the Lake of the Ozarks-perfect weather, beautiful place. What a blessing to be here with the family-DH, 3 sons (minus our girls, their spouses, and our granddaughter)!

As often is the case, I was compelled to get out of bed this morning and run. I wanted to be lazy, I really did-to just lie in bed and think and pray, drift in and out-but I couldn't do it. Not knowing the time, but that the sun was up, I quietly rolled out of bed, slipped into my running clothes, and stepped outside into the coolness of early morning.

Walking up a steep hill, I began my run at the top. What a view! Cloudless bright blue skies. Tall green oaks and elms. A deer on the roadway. Shetland ponies in an emerald pasture. Two camels--yes, two camels. I ran about 1.5 miles, until the gentle slopes became harsh, forcing me to turn back . A good run-I'm eager to go again tomorrow.

Perhaps a lake swim this afternoon.

Quiet time on the patio-refocused on the Lord and His word. Reviewed 2 Timothy.

Fed the family-eggs, english muffins, cereal, fruit. Finished a book.

Now down to the dock.

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork. Ps. 19:1
