About 61 degrees this morning-nice! I ran 50 minutes and it was challenging. My thighs were tight and achy, plus I hadn't slept real well last night.
I had awakened in the night and was very hungry-my stomach hurt and felt hollow. I didn't want to get up to eat, but I sure couldn't sleep, so I slipped downstairs, thinking about what I could eat. A hard boiled egg? Cheese? Crackers? Fruit? I ended up with a thick slice of cheddar and eventually went back to sleep, reciting my memory verses {not aloud :-} as I drifted off to sleep.
In the past couple of weeks I've tried on a dozen or more different sleeveless running tops at local stores. I can't find any that I like--that fit well, that aren't immodest, revealing, or too tight, that aren't way too long, gaping armholes etc. If I could find the right fabric, I would try making my own. Hmmmm.
Blessings on your day~
PS Watermelon is a wonderful cool-down treat after running. Yum.

Modest running clothes...a desire for me. It bothers me that some of my shorts are shorter than I would ever wear out. I do have a couple of pairs that I(and my husband) have decided are okay for running only, but it does bother me.
ReplyDeleteI have found the asics singlets from roadrunnersports.com to be a great option for a top for me. I have 2 colors. They are sleeveless with a T-back, but a looser fit(I wear a small and they are loose on me, but still fit well). They are so light weight and cool. Pretty reasonably priced compared to what I have priced at the stores(nike, etc). Overall, I really like the asics clothing. I am hoping to add some more asics items to my running clothes.
Here is the link for that top. http://www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs/products/ASW1620/
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kim! I will check it out soon. I'm wearing some old sleeveless cotton shirts now and they are drenched and heavy by the end of my run.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Ha, I was going to say the same thing about my tees. I usually just wear a tee since I really don't like how some of the other tanks and materials look/feel on me. I can't stand show through and those have a lot if you know what I mean... I sweat terribly and my shirts are so drenched and heavy when I am done. I've tried the cheap cotton tank tops from old navy since they are not too tight on me and they work now and then. They tend to get stretched out after a few washes though...
ReplyDeleteKate,
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about "show through"-ugh. I just ordered 2 of the ones Kim recommended-I hope they work for me. Will post after they arrive.
Hope you like your new running tops! I love the adidas range.
ReplyDeleteAnd hope you sleep better tonight.
Mmm, watermelon would be great after a run!
Mary Ann, I responded to your comment on my blog. I want to hear more about that!
ReplyDeleteAlso, we received John's thank you note today! It made our day! : )
I know what you mean about running clothes. I often leave the dressing room frustrated about the fit or coverage. Since I run in the dark most days I don't bother too much with what I look like ;) but when it comes to doing local races I'm usually scrambling for something to wear.
