This evening while running, I ran by a little creek in our neighborhood. There are sycamores near the creek and the scent of the water and the trees brought back memories of my 10+ summers at Girl Scout camp--Camp Scott, in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Happy days, sweet times.
Often while running in the morning, as I run by an office building that has an employee cafeteria, I breathe in the smells of french toast and/or pancakes. That also takes me back to eating in the Great Hall at Camp Scott. We used to sing our grace at each meal.
For health and strength and daily food,
We praise Thy name O, Lord.
Morning is here, the board is spread.
Thanks be to God, who gives us bread.
'Neath these tall green trees we stand,
Asking blessings from Thy hand.
Praise to Thee our God above,
For Thy help and strength and love.
Hark to the chimes,
Come bow your head.
We thank Thee Lord,
For this good bread.
Amen.
