I'm a morning person; once the sun goes down, especially in the long, dark winter, I start longing for my bed. Thus, my best time to run is first thing in the morning-usually before anyone else is up. I rarely run at any other time.
But this morning I was expecting a phone call at 7:30 and the painter at 8:00, so I decided I wouldn't try to fit in a run. Instead, I walked with my friend, and was it ever hot and humid!
By dinnertime I was feeling antsy and incomplete, so I decided to try an evening run. I went out about 8 and ran for 34 minutes. It was good-better than I expected. Here's the thing about running in the dark: a morning run in the dark gives way to light, but a twilight run gives way to further darkness. Duh. I found that interesting . . . not sure why. :-)
I wore my new shoes tonight-Nike Zoom. They felt great. I bought them for my longer runs and races-they are a full size larger than my street shoes. I'm afraid of stumbling if I buy them bigger than that. I rotate shoes--I also have Nike Air Pegasus and Asics Duomax Gel 1120. They are all comfortable. I usually buy my shoes at Academy Sports-I'll try on about a dozen pairs and find the ones that seem to fit my feet the best.
Enough blah, blah, blah for now.
Sweet dreams!

My preference is to run in the late evening, though I don't often get the chance to do so.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. Iguess we are each God's unique creation! :-) There is definitely a different feel with the evening run; I like to get it out of the way so I can get on with my day.
ReplyDeleteI am like you---morning is the time I feel the most energized and able to run. Mike laughs at me because every night at about 9pm I move into the sleep mode...I can talk much or help with decisions...he knows to talk with me earlier when my brain is still working! ha!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE mornings!
That should say I can't talk much...
