Basking in the sun

Seattle was chilly-I'm not gonna lie. I was cold about the whole time I was there, except when I was running. However, the weather was great for running! Perfect. And the scenery beautiful and the company spectacular!

DH did an excellent job teaching from Psalm 78 Sunday morning (3 services!), and we visited Mars Hill Church Sunday night. A good message about heresy . . . a heretic is one who claims to be a Christian, yet denies one of the primary foundations of our faith-like the Trinity or the Virgin birth, or the literal death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus or the inerrancy of scripture. We're not talking about modes of baptism or how we choose to educate our children or whether we worship with hymns or praise choruses. Those are at secondary or tertiary tiers of our faith.

As soon as we arrived at the LR airport this morning, I went outside to warm up in the sun. (Note to self: always take a sweatshirt or jacket and an extra pair of socks to Seattle-even in mid June.)

Got lots of walking in at the airport and glad to be home!

Oh, and BTY, I ran about 4.5 yesterday. And I forgot this-I got to shop at a Road Runner store on Saturday-was that ever fun!!! I bought a sleeveless running shirt and a black sports bra.

Blessings~

  1. Glad to see you safely home but know you'll miss the Seattle crew, especially Rosemary. She is adorable. It's almost too hot to walk in Little Rock, much less run, at least that's my opinion!

  2. I agree-it's awfully warm (read hot!) in LR. I have to get up before the sun to run.

  7. Ohhh, I've never tried a black sports bra that would be a nice change from my white ones to have. How cool is that to get to shop at Road Runner! I would love to visit Mars Hill Church and what a great message it sounds like you got to hear. We are going to Florida in Sept. and plan to visit RC Sproul's church. It's fun to get to visit churches like that when your away. I'm glad you had a nice trip.

  8. We love RC Sproul! And we also love visiting other churches. I've never had a black one either-I got the idea from Kim.

  9. Glad you had such a great trip! I love Psalm 78 - my dad used to preach from that (especially verses 1-8) when he wanted to talk about the importance of teaching your children.

Fun too, to get to go to Mars Hill. I will have to just stick to the podcasts! :)
