A Seattle morning

My run: It was perfect running weather-in the 50s, I think. My dinner last night was light, so I had a bite of Dove dark chocolate before I ran-good idea! I wore shorts and a tee-could have used lightweight gloves. Planning to run 3 miles, I, of course, didn't pay attention to where I was and ran slightly over 4 miles instead. :-)

The area where I ran this morning was flat, which was great, and I ran in a neighborhood green space, which was wonderful. We are near the university-neat old houses and brightly-colored flowers . . . and lots of trash in the yards and on the sidewalk. :-( I prayed for a young woman as she was getting out of her car to go inside. Bleary-eyed, she looked wasted and reeked of alcohol and cigarettes. I wondered if she longed for something different or was she content with her life? Does she feel trapped, like there's no way out?

My run ended at the Safeway, where I bought some lemon yogurt for breakfast and some Stash peach flavored black tea, to take back home.

Enjoying my time with my husband and Seattle family.

Thank you, Lord, for allowing me to be here, and please watch over my boys at home.

  1. Sounds like a great run! I love taking in new surroundings, though like you I sometimes forget to pay attention to where I am going, so I can get back again!

How lovely that you prayed for that young woman, I sometimes do that (often if I hear an ambulance I pray for those inside and the family).

And ooohhhh, Stash tea - yum. My friend who lives in California introduced to to Stash tea.....it is so full of flavour!

Enjoy the rest of your Seattle time with your family.
