I was ready to walk out the door for my long run this morning, when I got an email from my friend asking if I wanted to walk. Hmmm. Walk with my dear friend or run 6 miles?
A walk with my friend won out. If I had been in heavy training, I might have thought twice. Instead I emailed back and said I'd be over by 8. Then I went out and ran a fast one mile. Only I wasn't so fast as I'd like to be or as I imagine that I am. 8.59. Maybe the mile I have measured out is really more than a mile . . . I really need that Garmin 305, dontcha think? :-)
The Firecracker 5K is in 3 weeks-I'm hoping 2 of my 3 boys will run with me. Well, maybe not with me-they are much faster than I. Today I bought running shoes (his first pair) for the middle boy's b'day. I've never paid that much for my running shoes!

Time with friends is so precious isn't it? How fun that 2 of your sons are going to run with you! Can't wait to hear all about the race in July.
